About the Event
If 10ks and marathons are a bit tame for you, try the sport of
rogaining. The Columbia River Orienteering Club is hosting the U.S. Orienteering Championship May 13-14. Or you can amp
up your distance by signing up for the San Juan Island Marathon
and Half Marathon (June 4, 2006) or the Adidas Helvetia
Half Marathon and DropTop 10k (July 9, 2006). The San Juan
Islands are noted for their spectacular beauty, making this a
great destination marathon for the entire family; the Helvetia
is all about hills and endurance.
For a more relaxed event, sign up for the Mt. Tabor Challenge,
June 17, 2006. This 5k and 8k is open to the entire family, including
dogs.
Later in the summer, kick up your walking another notch by participating
in the Virginia Mason Team Medicine Marathon and Half Marathon
at SEAFAIR, July 9, 2006.
Finally, you can walk for hope. During the month of May the Leukemia
and Lymphoma Societys Team in Training will be recruiting
walkers.
